Amy Hinkle
SENIOR DESIGNER

"Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about."
Background
I received my Communication degree from Villanova University, but it wasn’t until later that I realized the hobby I loved could become a career – design. After moving to the DC area, I started as an intern at Mack Sumner Communications in 2014. Through the last 3 years, I’ve worked my way through the ranks of almost every title in the art department to become a senior designer on the team. Additionally, I freelance design work for both small businesses and the wedding industry.
First Job
Scooping ice cream at Boehringer’s Drive-In… the best homemade ice cream this side of the Mississippi.
Career Highlights
Seeing things I’ve designed go to print never gets old. From direct mail pieces to wedding invitation suites, you can’t beat the excitement and appreciation from your clients!
Guiding Principles
Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
Inspiration
My parents, who gleaned the best qualities from their own parents. They continue to lead by example how to live with integrity, determination and kindness. Couldn’t be prouder to be their kid.
Giving Back
Operation Photo Rescue – Repairing family photographs damaged by unforeseen circumstances such as house fire and natural disasters.
Perfect Day
A morning run, a full breakfast, a day on the beach or any body of water, an evening with pizza and games. All of these activities obviously include my husband, our dog and my favorite friends… and a probably a power nap.
