Annette Taddeo for State Senate
When the Republican State Senator representing parts of Miami-Dade County had to resign for racist remarks made on the floor of the legislature in early 2017, Deliver signed on to help capture this traditionally Republican district. After helping Annette Taddeo navigate a primary election against a well-known former State Representative, our strategists worked with progressive allies, including the Florida Democratic Party, to maximize turnout among African Americans and Democratic white and Latinx voters in the general election.
Deliver carefully targeted households, splitting communication as needed between English and Spanish. To maximize turnout, our team also created personalized voter report cards – again, in English AND Spanish – to encourage voters to go to the polls or return their mail-in ballots.
Despite being massively outspent by her Republican opponent, State Representative Jose Felix Diaz, Taddeo won the race with 51% of the vote – flipping seat from red to blue and helping build momentum for 2018.
